About Rhythm DoctorPeter Steen Hansen
Through my many contacts with people with heart rhythm disorders and their relatives, I know that it is often hard to find information about the conditions. This can lead to a significant amount of uncertainty and anxiety associated with heart problems.
That’s why I started the blog “Rhythm Doctor”. So that all patients, relatives and other interested parties can have a place where problems with heart rhythm disorders can be addressed in an easily accessible – yet thorough – way. In addition I want patients, relatives and other interested parties to have the opportunity to ask relevant questions and suggest topics that can be addressed on the blog.
As a physician, I have always been interested in heart disease. For the past 25 years, I have focused on the causes and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. In particular, atrial fibrillation, which is by far the most common cause of disturbed heart rhythm.
I work daily at Privathospitalet Mølholm in Vejle as head of HjerteCenter Mølholm, Denmark. I examine and treat up to 1,000 people with atrial fibrillation every year. I specialize in ablation treatment and have performed more than 7,000 of these procedures over the past 20 years.
Of course, this means that I am intimately familiar with the challenges that patients face when diagnosed with heart rhythm disorders, and the best treatments to overcome them. The first step? Getting a proper overview of your available options, and that’s where my blog comes in.
